I Am plays a single affirmation over soft, layered sound — spoken slowly, then
left alone. The silence between each repeat is not empty space; it is the part where
the words settle.
Common questions
How do I start?
Open a theme, choose an affirmation, and tap Begin. I Am picks a soundscape that
suits it and starts straight away. If you would rather choose everything yourself, tap
“Build it myself” instead.
Does it keep playing when I lock my phone?
Yes. Lock the screen, put the phone face down, and the session continues to the end
and fades out on its own.
Can I change things while it is playing?
Yes — tap Adjust. The voice level, the silence between repeats, the soundscape
and every individual layer can all be moved mid-session, and you will hear the change
immediately. Nothing is prepared in advance.
What is the “space between” setting?
The silence after each time the affirmation is spoken. It is the most important
control in the app: longer silences give the line more room to land. Nine seconds is a
good place to start, and some people prefer considerably more.
Can I change the voice?
There are two, Kristen and Milo. Whichever you choose is remembered, so you only
need to pick once. You can change it before starting or at any point during a session.
How do I keep a meditation I like?
Tap Save. It keeps that exact combination — affirmation, voice, soundscape,
layer levels, spacing and length — and it appears under “Yours” at the
top of the library. You can save several versions of the same affirmation, for instance
a short bright one for mornings and a longer, darker one for sleep. Hold a saved
meditation to remove it.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Every affirmation and every sound is included in the app, so it works completely
offline, including on a plane or with data switched off.
